Pie In The Sky – Odoo 18 ERP Implementation
Implemented and customized Odoo 18 ERP for Pie In The Sky, supporting operations across 40+ branches in Pakistan. The project focused primarily on POS, FBR integration, sales, inventory, accounting, and multi-branch operations, with custom functionality developed to meet the business requirements.
Key work included developing and maintaining custom Odoo modules such as POS FBR integration (`bn_pos_fbr_connector`), special discount functionality, POS customizations, and session management improvements.
For POS operations, we also improved session accountability and tracking, including tracking POS session state changes so that activities such as session closing could be traced to the responsible user.
From the infrastructure side, the system was containerized using Docker and Docker Compose, running Odoo 18 with PostgreSQL and custom addons. The deployment was designed around multiple Odoo instances with a shared database and load-balancing architecture to support the organization's large branch network and scalability requirements.
The project also involved production deployment, custom Docker image creation, Python dependency management, PostgreSQL configuration, persistent volumes, Odoo configuration, Git-based source management, and deployment/rollback considerations.
